Casey believes this recent disruption to the Google owned video platform may pave the way for possible competitors that can offer much more such as, a wider audience and better opportunities for creators to monetise their content.
Twitch is an example of a platform that appears to be a viable competitor. Majority of its users are gamers who make videos.. who knows what could happen next?
We're going to go through the suggestions that Casey Neistat have provided.
Remember that drama with Jimmy Kimmel and the ad controversy? YouTube attempted to explain below that some select partners are allowed to run their own ads -->
- Casey asks the question "Why can't I or other creators create our own ads?"
This is a great idea that creators could have access or communication with agents or advertisers in tailoring the ads to the type of content or audience. Isn't that a win-win?
He believes that the greater majority should not be punished for what individual people or groups have done.
- Casey also asks "Why not be rewarded in some way that appreciates with the growth of the company?"
He suggests the idea that YouTubers could be paid through YouTube/ Google stock. This measure would help creators feel more invested into the platform and company and encourage them to see YouTube grow.
