How effective is Content Cop?
Content Cop
is an immensely successful YouTube series by YouTuber iDubbbz. But how much
does it affect the YouTubers that it is made about?
The first
content cop made was made about Jinx, a growing reaction channel during the
time on YouTube when reaction channels were really popular. He was close to 1.3
million subs at the time of the Content Cop. iDubbbz exposed Jinx for his
lackluster and uncreative content. Following this Content Cop Jinx slowly
released videos less frequently and lost more and more subs and views. It's
hard to say whether Content Cop is the main reason Jinx's YouTube channel has
died. But it did affect it greatly.
The
FineBros were up next after their decision to trademark "react
videos". However the Content Cop didn't add much to the already sinking
ship that was their channel. They did decide to change their decision to
trademark "react videos". Overall the Content Cop didn't affect them
much.
After the
FineBros Content Cop, iDubbbz made a Content Cop on Keemstar. The general
public already hated Keemstar so the Content Cop didn't change how they saw
him. Although iDubbbz did a fairly thorough piece on Keemstar, despite months
of endless hate and backlash, Keemstar seems to have capitalized off all the
hatred and gain subs and views after several months.
The next
Content Cop was on HowToPrankItUp, a channel which would teach you how to do
rather convoluted and time consuming pranks. The Content Cop seems to have been
really effective at changing the opinion of would be viewers for the channel.
Less than two months after the Content Cop his daily sub count has plummeted
and as of today his channel sub count and views have stagnated.
LeafyIsHere
is the subject of the next Content Cop. The Content Cop was a huge blow to
Leafy's channel and views. After being exposed, Leafy did lose lots of subs.
However a year later, Leafy is gaining subs once again. So it seems a year is
all it takes to recover from a Content Cop.
The next
Content Cop was about Tana Moneau which was a very out of place subject for a
Content Cop. The fallout for this Content Cop wasn't too severe at all. This is
likely due to the different demographic that Tana appeals to. A slight decline
in her views and sub count is all that happened. This could also be due to the
videos she put out after the Content Cop in which she apologized for what she
had done.
The latest
Content Cop is about RiceGum, which hasn't really affected him as he is already
gaining subs again after losing subs for a few days after the Content Cop.
Ultimately the Content Cop has gained him more views and subs.
Content Cop
does generally affect the subject of the video however, the real winner from
this series is iDubbbz as this series is immensely popular and have gained him
heaps of views and subs.
